Russian Meet in India :)

Hello dear friends! Hope things are going on well in your corner of the world, the storms are behind, and there is only good weather ahead... I can apply same to myself too. We have been having a good but rainy weather last week, which I love of course.
Last to last weekend we had a mega-meet of Russian, Belorussian, Ukrainian, Moldovian-Indian families living in Punjab area. About 14 girls, same number of children, and few husbands were there.  We had to go to another city Phagwara which is about 120 km from Chandigarh.
It was a buzzing event, a little loud because of kids, particularly little A, as he found his latest passion there - the stairs... and we had to climb them up along with him; it was good though to shed some calories and gain them again.
Russian meetings are not just meetings, it is usually a feast. Since we live far from our native land, the get togetherS become especially valuable. Good food promises good communication we believe. Each of us cooked a dish or two...We don't do it frequently, but when we do...
Russians LOVE various salads. These are Korean carrot salad and Vinegret salad.
One of the most favourite salads - Olivie, which we usually make for New Year :)
Mini sandwiches look artistic on these plates.
Mushroom stuffed eggshells.. I haven't tried these but someone said they were really good.
Vegetable caviar - my mum's recipe :) It was yumm, though not everyone tasted it.
Chicken tefteli and Kiev cutlets.

Oh well.. not really Russian, but it was yummy! I haven't eaten sushi since Moscow (like 7 years ago?)!!! And NOTE - a home baked bread!!!
There were other dishes too, but I won't tire you with more.. let's have some dessert! Bezet fluffy buscuits:
Poncho cake - a specialty of one of our friends. She makes so yumm and so light!
We had to drive back already in the evening, and could enjoy these beautiful views once again. We loved these trees growing on the both sides of the road - it is not visible here but the weather was slightly cloudy.
The sunset at river Sutlej...
I am loving these things in India - nature, being able to communicate with my folks and spend time with my D and little A :)

Food pictures credit goes to one of my friends, she takes really nice photos! Thank you!

A Bliss of Being Home

After the winter trip to my parents,  I am back home again and I am happy. Thanks to my D, the most understanding and caring husband I could ever wish for. This time I went to my home country alone... and now I don't want it anymore, but only with my D. Together Always..remember? I am missing my husband a lot ...
I arrived in Kazakstan today early morning. I had 3 flights in just 32 hours and was in 3 different airports of three different countries: India, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Too tired to make a long post so I'm just going to share some moments of the trip with you. Me and my D flew to Delhi from Chandigarh day before yesterday evening and then...
India. The teddy bear I took with me is ready to start her first long journey, at Delhi International Airport visitor's area. Here, my D left for the bus to Chandigarh after few hours and I headed towards the check-in post.

Ukraine. Boryspol' Airport is the biggest international airport of the country.  I spent 11 hours there waiting for the flight to Astana. There are good facilties for long wait: free internet, cafes, duty free, rest rooms, but not possible to purchase a local SIM card, roaming is the only option.
The area for the transit passengers. Someone left a book for others. Good choice!

Looking out of the window. The sky .. oh, no words do describe, just look.

The weather was nice, you can see from the picture.
Time pass with a book and a croissant.
She was also eagerly waiting :)
Kazakhstan. Finally - a blissful early morning. It feels good to be back home.
***Have a great time with your families!***

Waiting for parents

Hot days in India, in Chandigarh, city where I live. When i came out of the room in the morning I saw water pools on the backyard and I felt very happy because... it was raining last night!!!
BUT... I was not going to tell about the weather, this we can leave for later.
Tomorrow is going to be a very happy, rather hectic, but happy day of my life... My parents are coming to India!!! We are planning few trips, roam around Chandigarh, have fun and so on. They have only two weeks but I think they will like being here. That's it about it for now, later I'm going to tell everything in details about what we were doing here. And today.. one more day of preparations for  the meeting with them.

Believe

Writing a blog is a new experience for me and I hope it's gonna be good!

Many people are writing about India... They have different reasons for this. Then...What new can I bring to all that amount of blogs on this topic ever existed up to now? Can I be unique and interesting? Yes, I can.
It started in the spring, continued whole summer and then autumn and winter of the same year... I still couldn't believe that my life would be ever linked to India...when I finally came here one winter day of 2009 and stayed... who knows forever or not. But right now I've been a part of this wonderful country for one and a half of a year.
The story began and let it continue!
