Winter Holidays - 4 Years in India

Hello, friends! I am here, I am always here :) I found time (and ok, let's be honest, wish) to blog! I got caught up with my new job and other events in life so much that blogging, unfortunately, went on the background.
First, I hope you all had happy and enjoyable winter holidays. I had rather good, with gifts and New year tree, and lights. There is a Santa under the tree which I bought in India, when celebrating my second new year here. Very cute, and I haven't seen such since.
This year we bought some more tree ornaments, but I didn't make any new myself. Also I wanted to have lights on my tree for a long time, and this year we got it too! I LOVE these lights! Now as the holidays passed by, I put the same lights in our room, my D loves it too :)
This little Santa I bought in Moscow, 4 years ago. I also bought 4-5 more of them in different colors, one travelled with me to India.
This Santa was purchased in my city, just before I went to India (4 years ago too). So basically I have 3 Santas with me every year, more to come? :)
Sorry, it is just a quick post, I gotta go somewhere, it is Saturday! Yey!
Love you all and wish you a splendid weekend!!!

Easter in India and -0.5

Hello, dears! Today just a post about main events of the last week. One of them was, as some of you might know, an Orthodox Easter. This year it happened very late, and here in India, I didn't feel at all like it was IT actually, with +40 C outside and sunshine from morning till evening. However, our small community of Russian wives here made it tradition to get together on this holiday, attracting our husbands to participate in celebration and enjoy Russian dishes :) At least my husband got used to heavy Russian meals, long talks at the table, and drinks. Okay, this is true :)
I too prepared Easter eggs. This year they were coloured pretty well. I decorated them with stickers I got from home last to last year - so good to see familiar pictures!

Some stickers I made myself from a glittery Indian tape :)
Another (remarkable for my life) thing happened - I was prescribed to wear spectacles! Yuppie! Well, not all the time, as I have got only -0.5. I shall use specs when I read, watch TV, crochet, etc. And as the doctor said: " Parties and all - you can go without specs." Thank you, this was some relief to know! So now I will have cozy times wearing my new beautiful accessory and reading one of my favorite novels (which I by the way, ordered on line).
I had had a busy week start. Our preschool mentor came from USA to give parenting and teachers' workshops. It was a thrilling experience! She, always smiling American lady, a great educator, professor and a wonderful personality, has been practising Buddhism for over 25 years now! Her passion for whatever she does in life made me see a clear path of my further career development as well and all prospects it may have. I wish I had more time for everything and for everyone. Though I am grateful to the powers of Universe for giving me such friends, who care for me so much, because it was them who insisted on me having eye check up done. I have got really nice people recently into my life, who encourage me to be a better person and a better friend.
Have an inspiring week, my dears!

*** Merry Christmas 2012! С Рождеством Христовым! ***

I wish you and my family (of course) a Merry Christmas!
Thanks for all your kind wishes and comments throughout my blog land journey. I'm happy to gain so many new friends from all over the world and share holiday happiness with all of you. :)
Here is the Christmas tree in my office, decorated by me and my Singaporean friend. I would like you to know that as soon as I'm an Orthodox Christian, our church celebrates Christmas on the 7th of January, so don't be sad when 25th passes by, we will honour the birth of Christ again soon :)
These are some Christmas presents I gifted last Saturday :) A heart bookmark.
A Christmas doily.
And a ruffle lotus doily! More gifts to come. I'm also doing some "ego-crocheting" (means, for myself :) which I can't wait to accomplish and show you!

Festive and Busy Life

Halloween in India was great! Though it was quite late when I dressed up and made make up for me and my husband (yes, for him too:)), we really enjoyed our Halloween celebration together! It was my husband's first experience and I don't really know who he was, because I was definitely a zombie fortune teller (haven't you guessed yet?)...well...you can see that we had fun!
Otherwise, I find this time of the year very busy and full of events. Besides all the festival preparations, and we try to participate in both, Hindu and Christian, there are many birthdays coming up in November, my husband is going for official trip again and will be back exactly before Diwali (13th of November). My mother-in-law's birthday is colliding with another Indian festival called Karwachauth which is tomorrow. Also, as it happens to me frequently, after months of lull, I get another student, willing to learn Russian, plus also... getting my first custom crochet which has to be done by the mid of December (though the 5 rows of the ripple baby blanket are left). Isn't all this great? :) Hey, and there are also Christmas and New Year ahead... Thinking about crochet decoration already!
Tonight I am going to apply henna (mehendi) on my hands for tomorrow's festival and will try to post some pictures :)
Hope you all had a great Halloween, and your life is as much interesting and eventful as mine here in India! Cheers!
P.S. I know there has been much more happening in the world these days.. this makes me think that we have to cherish every moment of our life, spend with our families and loved ones. Hope you are all well and safe in your places.
