International Women's Day - the Soviet Style

Hello my dear friends! Today the whole world is celebrating International Women's Day - a day to pay tribute to all the women on Earth for their dedication, love, care, support... A tribute to those women, living and those who are not with us anymore, for the warmth of their hearts, and softness of their voices, for being strong and brave, for being mothers, daughters, sisters, wives, and being constant inspiration for their families, partners, and friends!

Here is a small collection of  8th of March Soviet era cards which I think are really sweet, promoting family, love, kindness. My parents have some of Soviet cards at home too, I need to ask to take photos of them :)

Russian dolls!!! Oh no.. I have just remembered I bought one in Moscow last year... and it is still lying somewhere in the box - out, out on the shelf!!! Silly me :(

I am late but it was my dear mom's birthday yesterday (7th of March), she was a gift to her mom for Women's day many years a go... Love you mom! And miss you a lot!!! Be healthy and happy always!

Feminine March

I was so busy yesterday that didn't post anything, though it was a birthday of my always young Mum. It's been so many years that I'm not able to be there with her, same as to be with my Dad on his birthday. But  those we love are always in our heart and on our mind. 

Happy birthday Mum, you are my love and my strength and support! I'm so grateful that you brought me up a strong and independent girl. I'm grateful  that you always respect my choices, including the one to live in India, far from you, I know. So I wish you and Dad health and love... The latter we, your children, always are ready to give you. 

My parents loved India a lot during their first visit, and they dream of the day they come here again and see more of this country. I'm grateful they support our marriage too and love my D so much, and call him their son :)

Feminine March - it was always a month of the first sprinkles of the Spring after a long winter. The month my Mum was born just before International Women's Day, which is today, on the 8th of March. I remember first Spring flower sold in the markets, everyone was gifting them to their women, be them their colleagues, mothers, daughters, grandmothers. A great day to show your love to those who gave you life and celebrate womanhood.

So I wish you all, my dear female readers, a happy Women's day, filled with love of your close ones, your men, and your children.

8 of March - International women's day and Holi!

Today is a special day, because two different holidays came together in one day - 8th Of March!
As known, 8 of March is always a holiday in Russia, many European countries and post USSR countries as well and is dedicated to women. So in the morning I got a lovely short sms-poem from my father! It was saying about spring, flowers and happiness! Thank you, dad!
This is a small picture gift for all women this day, tulip! I remember we use to have tulips on our old dacha, and whenever we use to come there in early spring, they were already blossoming, red and yellow! These are not ours, but they are resembling those:

This day also coincides with a big holiday of India called HOLI! It is a festival of colours, good mood, happiness and joy! This day is marked by throwing colours on each other and saying "Happy Holi!" Last we celebrated it with our friends. It was so much fun!!! I loved it and I hope we are going to celebrate this year the same way!
