Time for Handmade

Hello dear friends! You might have thought  I wrote such title for this post because it is time to Handmade! yey! ...Oops, no... I meant HOW to find time to handmade?
I would not like to give excuses WHY I have no time to do this, there are many many moms who have more than one child, and still they do  hobbies, go to work, keep the house etc. Well, I am not one of them.
After I come home from office in the second half of the day, I get occupied with my little A, whether it is to make him sleep or give him food, or play with him, or read to him, or simply hug and kiss him.. it continues till evening when my D comes from his work, and I first of all make chai for him. We sit together in the drawing room, sipping milky chai, little A running from us towards the door and back, and we play with him, have fun etc...
Then just a few more moments, and it is time for little A to sleep again... And it is already time for us to go to bed too, because we have to get up in the morning and start the new day...
As mush as I am enjoying every single moment of motherhood, I feel slightly frustrated because I am not able to figure how to still do things which I had been doing before becoming a mother. How to manage time, or when to find time to crochet, sew, draw? I definitely would like to sleep at night... hehe.
But that's all right, I am immensely happy that little A is the reason for me having less time for other things. Let's see maybe when he grows up and will start doing many deals on his own, the situation will change. So far he started eating with spoon by himself, and helps me to dress him up and groom :)) Last Tuesday we had a lovely time with crayons! He enjoyed putting those lines on paper, selecting colors, holding the crayons in his little hands, broke few of them though.
At one point he selected these colors, good combination I must say. So well, actually I am having time for hobbies, now - with little A :)
It was  a Republic day on 26th, and we had a holiday. We went out to the park with little A. I love taking photos there, the light is awesome, colors appear so bright. Little A enjoys open ground a lot, he runs away from us in such a funny way - bending his upper body slightly forward, his hair long and fluffy fluttering because of movement, little feet moving fast on the grass.. my happiness in jeans he is! :)

I am planning on the next post about how we are raising a bilingual (multilingual?)child :) Stay tuned!
Wishing a peaceful and enjoyable weekend to all of you dear friends!!!
P.S.Some of you have left my blog but I totally understand why , however will be missing you... best of all to you too!

  1. He's so adorable! He's growing so fast! Is he going on 2 or 3? I've lost a bunch of followers too....everyone's seen their numbers plummet. I think I read that blogger was deleting blogs that haven't been touched in years.

  2. Anna - he is so handsome. I can tell how proud you are! As for hobbies and your own time, I used to sit and do something for myself AFTER my two were in bed for the evening...even if just for a little while, because more than likely, I would fall asleep. Your time will come, later. ;-) As for people leaving your blog, they are disappearing from mine on a daily basis the past two weeks...mainly because Google Blogger has changed something that if you are not a "registered" Google user, you cannot use the "follower" thing to find blogs now. My numbers dropped by almost ten in the last two days. No worries - we all still love you!

  3. Your son is absolutely beautiful! I remember trying to make time for hobbies.. I had 3 little ones! But I made time to do it as it meant so much to me. I took pottery classes while my husband stayed with the children. I knitted, crocheted and spun on a spilling wheel. Keep doing your creative things! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  5. Hi Anna, Your son is very cute and he is growing very fast :)
I know it's difficult to find time for hobbies. I used to work full time until my daughter was in 6th grade. I cooked early morning at 5:30 and left home at 8:30am and used to come back between 6:30-8:00 pm depending on work. Life is like that in IT. And then to bed by midnight. I did some hobby related things on weekends. But even weekends used to be busy going out for lunch or dinner. Life will be busy even when kids grow, their needs from us change and keep us occupied. So start claiming your me-time on weekends:) Let Mr. D take charge of being both mom & dad on weekend;) Don't wait for free time.

Hope your family is doing well!

      Hugs!

  7. I have a college boy and a senior boy and I still don't know how to manage my time. But now, I tend to crochet more than anything else, so that means the house is never clean. Ha! Enjoy time with your little guy. Childhood is fleeting. This is precious time for sure.

  13. Your boy is so cute! Enjoy every moment with him because before you know he will be grown. Unfortunately they grow so fast. My daughter will graduate from high school this summer, I don't know how that happened. Just a moment ago she was a little girl!
I was fortunate to have her in Germany where we have parental leave which I took until we left for the US. I am so glad that I did. I still worked with the crisis hotline, but that was only a few times a month (including one night shift). When we moved to the US I decided to never work full time again while our daughter is still at home. Now I have my own business which is a completely different story, but I can manage my time much better. Sure, I'm not getting rich, but I feel much more balanced and happy.

Working is also good... good change from routine. However even I'd like to have my own deal so I can dedicate more time to my growing child, but earn some money at the same time. I can understand what you are talking about

  18. Raising a child is not easy and it doesn't happen by magic. It's like having to learn everything again. When The Boy (he's not so little anymore, since he's in university lol!) was little I spent about 3 years not being able to figure out how to do other things other than take care of him and playing with him... Things happened naturally and eventually I was able to fit some things back into my life and create some new ones that fit better with having an active little boy needing attention all the time. Enjoy this time, dear one. And when you and little A are ready for new things, then new things will happen.

I love reading about your games with him, the way you and your husband interact with him... It will be wonderful to see all three of you growing through this time in your lives.

Can't wait to read about raising a multilingual child. Since I've raised a bilingual one and I know it wasn't easy.

    1. Hi Magaly! I am sure you found ways to balance raising a child and following your own path. I can't wait when he will be ready to explore and do more interesting things, I rememeber my parents use to spend loads of time with me creating and handmade-ing :)
Oh well, I am yet to prepare this post, had not time to take few pics I wanted to. Please tell me more about your experience, I would love to read about it!

  20. Dear Anna, You have a gorgeous darling boy. He is so cute. Please enjoy every minute you get with him. I know small kids can sometimes be demanding and cranky. A few years more and then there will be school, homework and tiffins. But believe me all that will pass in a jiffy even if today it may not seem like it. Now my son is 22 and we feel that we just could not enjoy his childhood or spend time with him. Mornings were busy with getting ready for school and office, and making lunch, evenings were full of school work, dinner and preparing for the next day. So take tons of photos and try to savor each minute. I love going through old pics, the birthday parties, holiday trips, all of it. By the way, I used to crochet in the train while commuting to office, as in the initial days we were staying in a joint family and taking time out for hobbies at home was impossible. I hope this year sees lots of blog posts from you...and me too :). Last year was not so good for me and my blog, main reason being health issues. So wishing you all the very best for motherhood, blogging and crafting.
    Love and Hugs

I know... we already feel it, he grew too fast since the time he was able only to lie down, eat, and sleep :)Now he is unstoppable, speaks a lot in his baby language, throws tantrums occasionally, hugs us tight, gets angry, cries, laughs.. plays,... oh!
I wish you in return, a very good health and more creative days!!!
      Hugs and kisses!
