Blissful Moments on Rainy Days

I know I am very spontaneous this week. I do posts about this and that - things my life consists of. My soul was very happy today as well as my body, which truly got heated up in the last couple of weeks. Yes, it rained heavily today. I finished my office the exact time it started pouring water from the sky... I was more than grateful to the Nature for giving us this relief. I expect evening to be cool and soothing.
I reached home, did some house things quickly and made a cup of black coffee for myself. After that I went back to the house, but a timely and wonderful thought struck me to go out and have a pleasant time under the cloudy sky.. with the same cup of coffee - it tasted special. It looked special, reflecting the sky on its surface. I haven't felt such joy for a long time... I was looking around, on our plants trying to guess their feelings about this blissful weather today. They were grateful too, I could see it.
My eyes fell on this waving plant which grows in the pot under the citrus tree you can see at the background. Last year it was very small, continuously drying, loosing its leaves, I thought it wouldn't make it. But look at it now - so green, so lively and ready to meet sunshine every morning and kiss the stars every  night.
Rainy weather always makes me dreamy... makes me happy... makes me feel good and content. It makes me feel I am home.
Wishing you all a blissful weekend!

Inspired By Nature

Today be ready for some unusually long tales from me, my dears, as I was really missing you all and want to share my little things :) The week was pretty much diverse, in a sense of weather. I hand't even have enough time to complain how much hot days had become, when sudden rain and drop in temperature brought immense joy. Yes, I mentioned in my profile that I like rainy weather, no, actually, I love it! As I was waiting for my conveyance (which I'm going to show you soon) to pick me yesterday morning, I had few minutes of communication with nature. I can't describe how good I felt inhaling wet, fresh air, listening to the rustle of the trees, and observing this incredible sky... It is amazing how nature creates patterns from its elements - I have never seen such clubbing of clouds ever!
When I arrived to the sector I work in, everything was quiet, looked clean and fresh. The plaza  was totally different from what it is usually. And usually it's a crowded place, noisy because of the people's talks and birds' chirping.
Besides adoring changing weather, I occupied myself with few projects this week. This one was inspired by Magaly's wonderful  candles, you can find her tutorial here. I managed to make only one so far and wasn't that clever to tie the wick around pencil to keep it up while wax is getting cold, but I do love this cute white candle, which is by the way, scented with lemongrass! My D liked the candle very much, as he likes lemongrass fragrance too.  I haven't tried to burn it yet, but will do today in honour of our 2 years and 9 months marriage anniversary. Oh yea, I always say, that we have to celebrate not only love, but patience. We went through so many challenging  moments already, and I believe they made us stronger and closer to each other.
Among all the doilies I had made before, this one is very special. Not only because of the colors, which I myself like a lot, but also because it was made for my parents. You see, I'm getting ready for my trip back home. I picked the doily pattern immediately I saw it on Debi's blog. She took it from Rita's blog, and  thanks to her for highlighting this pattern. My doily didn't come out that lacy, because I used DK acrylic yarn. I tried to block it later on as to stretch the stitches more to  show the spaces.
And now something special (again). My first painting on real canvas - it was such a spontaneous decision of mine! I used acrylic paints, oh dear, I really like them now, as I tried them only on plain paper before. The canvas texture is also pleasant to paint upon. First, I planned to make the picture fairy tale like, but later it turned out more realistic. I love sun set, as it sometimes gives wonderful color to the sky... The whole painting is a pure inspiration, with no drawing rules :)
The current week is a big long 7 day celebration of Maslenitsa holiday, which precedes the Great Lent in Orthodox calendar. Every day of the week has its own name and purpose, and usually, everyone bakes Russian pancakes "bliny" during the whole week as to share with their relatives and friends. Today is a day when mother-in-law visits her son-in-law's home and he offers her pancakes :) Here is my version of pancakes - they tasted the same as my father's ! Yumm : )
The last day of Maslenitsa is called a Forgiven Sunday, and this is the day when you ask for forgiveness from your close ones and they ask from you. You have to forgive, even if offense is big, or simply say "God will forgive you".
I wish you all to have good mood, peace of mind and love in your heart.

Rainy Days Happen Too

Hello, dears! Thanks for all your wishes  for my good health :) I'm better now physically and mentally. I was a little disappointed as the full Moon didn't charge me with strength and energy as usually.  May be the weather wasn't as good, because the days kept on switching from sunny and warm to rainy. Yesterday was so gloomy and wet, but today it's sunny and the sky is clear. Now I look forward to seeing what happens tomorrow, may be the rain fall again.
Being away from blogging for a while I decided to take the snaps of what I was up to yesterday, because the rest of the week wasn't remarkable. Here comes the cloudy sky. I was not up to it, but I was standing under it, amazed by the force which was accumulated up there.
My dear lettuce however was feeling well, since it was gaining more juice into its leaves. You can see that the soil wasn't able to soak such amount of water anymore as it never dried in the past three weeks. I thought that all my small plants will simply rotten, but they seem keep up fine after all.
Another treasure from my parents' dacha - fennel. I do love different herbs, so I hope that this fellow will be able to make it to a fully grown plant, if the sun will be merciful in March.
Yesterday I finally threw out the roses my D gifted for V's day. No, actually I didn't threw all of their parts and left these beautiful petals. I'm drying them now, having no idea for what purpose :) I simply like their look and color.
I took that picture of the lettuce in the morning, and in the evening I made a simple salad out of it with beans and garden grown green onion. The salad was almost purely made of our own veggies, if consider that I used few beans of our harvest too. My Mum suggested me to make such salad with a very simple dressing consisting of vinegar, olive oil and some herbs. You can also add mustard, but I preferred to go without it. I liked the salad, my D didn't eat it, he doesn't like the taste of lettuce anyway. Rest of the family tried it, but no feedback so far :)

Me and my D are planning to have a short trip somewhere. I really want it, got tried of the city and I hope this dream will come true.
The Crochet Lounge meet didn't happen last Sunday, and we are planning to meet this Sunday, I hope for sure this time. It appears a little more difficult as it seemed in the beginning, but we will break through. I have reached 99 followers so far, and my D promised that we would celebrate when I reach 100 :) Isn't he sweet? Thanks to all of you, dears, who actually make my blogging possible and so much enjoyable.
Have a lovely day! Just two more days of work, and then a weekend:) Yey!

Hot Summer Days

The days in India are more than just sunny, they are very very hot. We can now rely only on air conditioners and fans, which work almost all day long. I was craving for some glimpse of rain, but no hope. Two days back I got up in the morning, went out on the back yard, lifted my hand up and ... saw fluffy clouds gathering above! I was so happy that rushed to take the camera and made these pictures:
Clouds were rain-promising. I have never seen such here before, so magnificent view!  However by the time I got ready to leave for office, the sky was clear again and sun started spreading its' heat.
Everything seems to be wishing for a drop of rain. Remember those green plants I was so proud of? They have become dry, no matter that we water them regularly. Poor tomatoes and beans, just a look at them makes you feel hot. Perhaps we should have planted them a bit earlier or we have to invent some tent in future to provide some shadow.
Some of the plants are struggling so hard to stay alive... and tomatoes are still growing!
Our curry tree I described in another post, gave berries! The three's also feeling hot and its' leaves drooped, while berries are becoming red.
What about us?  Me and my D had been busy for the whole week and we are not eager to go out anyway today as it's hot. So I got busy into some house deals by cleaning the place around. We had been having quiet few dust storms over here, so the house stuff was covered with sand.
I cleaned shelves in our drawing room and now I can show a small collection of the books I have with me here.  Some of books I got from home, like these: rather shabby Goffman and Russian writers and poets Bunin, Gumilev and Pasternak.
Other books I have already purchased here like Coehlo and Tarot. Amanda Brooklyn was given to me by my friend  and awaiting to be read. "Soviet Literature" I took from the library of the school where I used to work (still need to give it back, lol).  And my dear Bram Stoker's "Dracula" which I bought in Moscow 3 years back! That time I also bought that thin book of Fitness yoga while I was already in thoughts about my D. This small library has a small history :)
Today, just like last Sunday, I also gave time to myself and did home facial. I used this sandal pack mixed with Rose water, a great help in purifying your skin and making it gentle.
I was also planning to do yarn shopping as I ran out of few colours.. Let's see. The heat is declining now, by six o'clock, so the evening will be more fresh and will give a relief till tomorrow's morning.
Wishing everyone a nice weekend. Thanks for all the comments and your support :)
