How the story began - removing the distances

I think I should have done this post in the very beginning as it's actually explains why I'm here in India.
It started in the spring a little more than two years ago, when I was still doing my graduation in Moscow, Russia. I was using well known social network to keep in touch with my cousins, who all live abroad. I had already enough people in my friend list when I got one more friend request which I accepted. One click changed whole my life later.
The friend whom I added was a boy from India. We began exchanging messages. A long line, or better, column of our chatting then followed. The boy was very communicative and wanted to know more about me.  He used to call me “Friend” in all our talks, I in turn was not sounding very interested in our conversations, that time I was too occupied with my diploma project and state examination.
Once, when we were chatting for almost one month, I deleted him from a friend list. I had a reason which appeared to be so silly later on. Some voice inside me said that time: "Come on, send him a friend request back. May be you offended him with your sudden decision". I followed the advice my inner voice gave. I guess that The Indian boy listened to his inner voice too when he accepted my request, though this situation could put an end to our then-friendship.
When my graduation was done and I had a diploma in my hands, I could dedicate more time to our talks, and indeed, we started having longer chats filled with cheerful, happy messages, with smiles representing our moods. We got to know a lot more about each other.
He asked my mobile number and called me once. That was I guess the first time I was talking to someone over the phone in English. As far as I remember that day I couldn't say much because my heart started beating so vigorously when I got a call. I said the boy about it, he was surprised. After that he kept calling me for a few more times, sometimes when I was in the company of my friends and I wasn’t comfortable to talk in front of them.
I understood that I meant something to him when he expressed a concern. He was afraid that when I would be back to my country I would forget him and we would never chat again. He was so wrong about it! My entire existence was already full of him that throwing him out of my thoughts was not possible at all.
I became really crazy for him so much that I started learning Hindi language, I didn't really know for what purpose, but I was doing it with so much passion which I could never expect from myself.
I used to go the Center of Studying India in my city three times a week for Hindi classes, which were conducted by a girl who herself spent about a year in India learning Hindi in the university. I was more fascinated with the atmosphere of the center, I liked being there among all those Indian books, pieces of craft work,  people, who were in different ways  bound up with India...  I was listening to Hindi songs all the way long in the buses. And of course, HE, that Indian boy, was always on my mind.  I think I seemed to be strange to the people around as I didn't really care what was going on in the city, in the country or in the world.
At some point of time we both realized that we wanted to meet each other very much.. but HOW? This question was chasing us day and night. Till one day when he told me about an opportunity to go to other countries for internship, for a long duration... And this became my aim since then.
I did a lot of research on how to go to India through the trainee ship program. I found and joined it... And I had never been so close to my goal to meet HIM. I wasn't afraid at all going far away from my parents to meet a boy whom I met online... I was inspired by my love to him that much that it gave me a charge of confidence and strength!
When I was planning my trip to India it was December. A severe frost was ruling in the city, it was -35 or so. But I didn't feel that cold when I was going to the Embassy to issue my visa, or to buy the tickets. Yes, by the way, I didn't buy a return ticket; I bought a one way ticket to India.  I really don't know what was going on in the head of the Indian boy when I finally said I was coming to meet him. I really don't know what was going on in the head of the Indian boy when I finally said I was coming to meet him. He sounded happy though doubtful or better not believing that we would see each other soon.
That was my first flight on the plane. Seeing the lights of Delhi from the height I started crying. I was thinking that he was already somewhere there waiting for me and might be nervous as the flight was delayed for while.    When all the formalities with the luggage and the passport were done, I went out of the airport… and couldn't see the Indian boy in the crowd. Yes, it was obvious that he was not there. My heart sank. Moment later I noticed one of the girls who I met on the same flight. One of them had a boyfriend who had a local mobile number, and they let me call my Indian boy. But I couldn't speak to him and gave a phone to that guy so that he could speak Hindi and understand better what happened. It was an irony when I was told that my Indian boy was waiting outside of the exit 2 and I was standing near it but inside the airport… I proceeded towards the exit with my luggage… The moment I saw my Indian boy I didn't believe my eyes that it was him who I loved through all those long months, who sent me so much of his love through the distance in return...
The story began and it continued.  The Indian boy and I got married five month later.  Our marriage and the way we came to it is a subject of another story which I might write some day. And now we are happily married, we try to cherish each minute we spend together. We have a great perspective in front of us – a life in which interest to each other will never be exhausted, because we have so much to tell about our countries, so many things yet to be discovered.
The whole our story seemed to be im-possible, but WE removed that prefix and everything became possible! That’s what supports us now when we are at the worst moments of our daily routine. We are proud of our love story and we respect it a lot because it took us so much effort to finally put the words “together” and “always” beside our names.
One more lesson we both gained from our relations: if your heart says you to go ahead just do it, no matter what, you will be rewarded in the end.

  12. I am reading this for the first time. You really have a lovely story for your togetherness:):) it requires a very deep call from the heart to believe in a person who is at a distance and from altogether different place, at times could have been risky too. But you both are lucky love doves :) wish you years full of happy togetherness ahead:):) I got that ABCD ....A for Anna and D for Dipin. I know Mr. D's name now ;)

  14. Lovely beginning of an even lovelier story of you two together. My story with my husband is very similar, but that was before the computer and cell phones in the late 1970's. And I was the American and he the Dutchman. Maybe I will share on my Wetcreek Blog someday. Enjoy reading your posts and your comments on mine. Linda
